My Office This Afternoon
This was the view from my “office” this afternoon–any guesses where it is?

Here’s some “extra-curricular” photos from a few weeks ago. We have a new Verizon tower practically in our backyard, so I took Josiah and Lydia to take a look at it:
I’m sure Andy wouldn’t mind having that for his ham radio tower!

Hannah’s Cast
I always wondered how a cast is “put on” a broken appendage. We had a front row seat yesterday afternoon as they applied one to Hannah’s forearm.
First, a fabric sleeve was put on:
Next, her forearm was wrapped with strands of soft something or other:
Third, white strips of fiberglass were applied; this stuff was warm and sticky when applied, and soon hardened:
Last, strips of “hot-pink” fiberglass encompassed her whole forearm:
Hannah was desiring a tie-dyed color pattern; I vetoed that outright (no hippies in the Greenfield home!
), but they didn’t have that anyway. So she went with something that will definitely glow in the dark!
I emailed the xrays of Hannah’s arm to her, so she’ll undoubtedly post those on her blog. Pretty cool stuff.

Josiah Snowboarding
Here’s a quick little video of a future Olympian–
This was his first afternoon trying the snowboard; I was impressed with his fearlessness.
