Veterans’ Day

My dad, uncle Mike, and Grandpa are veterans of the Navy. I and my family are proud of them!

Question on the Fly

Inspired by yesterday’s post, here’s another brain buster that has caused great dissension in our family for years (literally). I probably have mentioned this to some of you dear readers before, but nonetheless here’s the situation:

You’re driving down the road at the legal speed (whether 45, 55, or 65, unless you’re in Montana). A fly flies in through an open window into your vehicle.

Does the fly (1) continue flying in your vehicle, or (2) does it splat on your back window?

Hmmmmmmm.

I won’t specify who in our family is on what side of the debate (i.e. the splatters vs. the non-splatters).

Question from the Gutter

….literally.

Not a question about gutters, but a question literally from the gutter.

I cleaned my gutters out today (getting ready for our annual church picnic this Sunday and then Ashley’s open house), especially since those pesky maple leaf “helicopter” seeds filled them up.

While cleaning out one particular gutter, I noticed a lot of dirt. I tried to figure out how that got there. Then I saw an earthworm.

Okaaaaay……how in the world did an earthworm get up in the gutter?

I’m taking suggestions. The winner (i.e. the most likely answer, ’cause I have absolutely no clue how it got there) gets an undetermined prize [heh heh]! 🙂

Country Mailboxes

I’ve had this idea for awhile, of posting pictures of mailboxes I’ve seen during my travels out here in the country. There’s some interesting and creative ones to be sure.

Here’s one to start us off (names and addresses will be removed, but if you live in the area you may recognize these!)—

Huh?

I saw this sign just now on the way to the post office. Any ideas what meat bingo is? 🙂
