Great Quote
“A believer who will discredit systematic theology has meager intelligence and spirituality to match it.”
–Earle G. Griffith, Baptists: Their History, Principles and Polity, 1935, p. 60.
What’s Up?
I’ve been busy working on our church’s weblog lately, and thought I’d take a minute of your time to invite you to take a gander over there.
Unlike many church websites, ours is not “static”–it changes as I add new posts. I’ve always felt that for the time I put into preparing messages, it’d be great if somehow I could also put them in print to put another tool in the hands of my people and to help spread the Word. So that’s what I’ve been doing there, giving basic written summaries of each my messages.
Check out the front page of our church, and you’ll see that when you click on a particular service you will be taken to a summary of what preached then. My desire is to keep these updated, so check back periodically to see what we’ve been learning from God’s Word
I’ve also been working on putting up some past notes, such as:
- Why Christians Need Each Other
- Profitably Learning From the Bible
- Making Christ Preeminent by Spirit-Led Living
I know, this isn’t as cute as pictures of Lydia or the other girls or as funny as Josiah’s latest escapades. Sorry! 🙂
Here’s one of Lydia and Grandpa Greenfield, who stopped by for a quick visit after a business trip to Florida:
Grandpa makes and sells antennas and other things that go with that kind of stuff (you can tell I didn’t go into the “family business” 🙂 ). If you need any of that “kind of stuff,” go over to his webpages: www.tennadyne.com and www.cubex.com.
Wrapping Up GR
While in Grand Rapids we took the kids to the Children’s Museum.
Josiah, Savannah (their cousin), and Lydia have fun sliding into a box full of balls. Josiah and Savannah have penguin costumes on.
Lydia met a friend!
Josiah’s favorite place at the museum: the Lincoln Log table!
Savannah and Meagan try to enclose themselves in a bubble while Josiah and Lydia look on.
The perfect way to finish the day–falling asleep eating a cookie!
On our way home from GR we stopped in Detroit to see some friends, Dale & Connie Folks and Alyson, Madison, and Marissa Peterson (their blog is PetersonGirls). Here’s Ashley with Madison and Marissa–
Christmas in Grand Rapids, MI
The Price Family Dinner. Moving furniture and setting up a long table in the living room is the only way we can all fit around the table!
Christmas at the Greenfields; this is Ashley and Grandma
The kids enjoyed playing Twister
Dan with his Grandma Scott who turned 94 this past summer!
Some quiet talk time with Papa…
Detroit Pistons vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Yesterday the Pistons played in Cleveland against the Cavs. The result: Pistons still own the Cavs. We may live in Cav-country, but the Pistons will always be the farmhands’ team.
In case you didn’t know about the results of yesterday’s game, here are some helpful links to bring you up to date:
